'What follows is a work-in-progress — the product of a one-year project as a Research Affiliate at Massachussetts Institute of Technology Center for Advanced Visual Studies tracing the legacy of graphic designer Muriel Cooper. This booklet is necessarily incomplete and perhaps better for it. It is a first draft offered in public before it is ready. Inside, we will follow a guided tour of any number of archives, libraries and climate-controlled rooms inside and outside of MIT searching for the traces of Muriel Cooper’s forty years of graphic design practice.'
